About us
Cox Analytical Systems is a leading provider of XRF scanners. We build scanners designed by scientists for use in research and industry. A deep understanding of XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) and x-ray physics has resulted in several cutting edge inventions.
This knowledge continues to prove itself in several unique constructions, all having cutting edge performance. Itrax XRF scanners are packed with innovations and smart solutions that offer several performance advantages.
These instruments find their applications in scanning rock drill cores, wet sediment cores and wood samples to determine their elemental composition. Itrax scanners are used around the world within fields like Geological research, Paleo climate research, Mineral Exploration, Limnology, Forestry, and Environmental Research where these XRF scanners represent the best this technology can deliver in terms of speed of analysis, data quality, quantitative capacity, and reliability. They are finding their way also into new applications like the raw material industry.
The Cox story
Cox Analytical started off in the early 1990's as a spin-off from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The founders were part of a research group led by professor Anders Rindby (portraited in the photo to the right). This research group focused it's research efforts around x-ray spectroscopy, XRF analysis and x-ray micro-beam optics. More than one hundred scientific, peer reviewed articles related to these topics and their applications have been published by the group members. Since 2002, the company has exclusively been designing, producing and commissioning the range of XRF scanners that you find on these pages. Today, installations are found across the world.
